Mareen Schneider founded Grasshopper Investments in 2009. A lawyer by education with a focus on capital markets and international business law - she set up Grasshopper to channel private investment into water using innovative business models and investable concepts. Her goal: complete solutions that combine strong water project design with solid financing.

Water is still a relatively unknown topic and often needs explanations. At the same time, Grasshopper holds an almost unique position in "water project development combined with private investments"; there are very few comparable companies worldwide. Mareen has international experience in the water sector, especially in Asia (with a focus on India and China) and the Middle East (GCC countries), alongside her own roots in Europe.
